Parque Marino del Pacífico

The Pacific Marine Park, established in 2002 through Republic Act No. 8065, is a collaborative initiative for coastal zone improvement and sustainable development. Led by MINAE and in partnership with the Puntarenas community, National University (UNA), National Learning Institute (INA), and National Biodiversity Institute (INBio), the park is administered by the Pacific Marine Park Foundation. Its mission encompasses interdisciplinary research, education, sustainable marine biodiversity use, and recreational activities. Guided by values such as equity, solidarity, and ecosystem balance, the park contributes to marine conservation, knowledge dissemination, and community development, while actively participating in policy development and offering a dynamic recreational space for learning.
