Reconnect forest ecosystems and people by planting trees in our urban areas and parks as a community
Our forested ecosystems are an essential part of Costa Rica’s natural beauty and provide critical habitat, shelter, and food for many of our endangered species.
As more land is developed, more trees are chopped down. As we work to preserve land and prevent further deforestation, we must continue to reforest urban areas and parks that have already lost their trees.
We are working with partner organizations and schools to plant trees that are native to our dryland forests. We also make every effort possible to ensure that our baby trees are well cared for and survive until they are established.
By engaging the community, especially students and children, in our reforestation efforts and bringing trees back into the human landscape, we increase our connection with the environment and with each other. We believe interacting with nature every day is essential to ensuring the health of our natural ecosystems and our own health and well being.
Our reforestation initiatives are rapidly evolving and expanding. We are planting trees and preserving land in new communities, we are connecting with experts and other organizations, and we are preparing land for a new nursery so that we can grow our own seedlings.
We believe Tamarindo can be a Zero Waste Community. We focus on building an energized and connected community that comes together to make meaningful impacts.
We invite you to be part of the community and join us. See more about our Community Compost and Beach Clean Up. Together we can create clean healthy environments.
